Free API Alerts For Maxis And Hotlink Customers

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- Maxis Communications Bhd will send out free Air Pollutant Index (API) news via its short messaging services (SMS) alerts to all its customers beginning Friday.
In its effort to ensure that customers are educated and protected from the deteriorating and hazardous condition of the current air quality in the Klang Valley, Maxis would proactively update its customers 2-3 times a day via SMS alerts provided by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama).
Its senior general manager and head of consumer marketing, Ng Keng Ming said the public needed to know the API levels in order to take precautionary measures and to avoid high risk areas.
"We hope the SMS alerts will assist our customers to do so in the days to come," he said in a statement here Friday.
To receive the free API alerts, subscribers would have to send 'BUY API' to 26000 via SMS. To stop the FREE API alerts subscribers should send 'STOP API' to 26000 via SMS at anytime.
