45 new cases of HFMD in Sarawak

Star: KUCHING: Four children were reported to be seriously ill from hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) as 45 new cases were detected in Sarawak yesterday.
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan said a four-month-old girl was admitted to Sibu Hospital last Saturdayin serious condition.
The baby’s health was reported to have improved but she remained in the intensive care unit.
The other serious cases were a one-year-old boy, a girl aged one year four months and an eight-month-old girl in Miri Hospital.
Miri division reported the highest number of new cases yesterday with 25, followed by Bintulu with 10 and Sibu, seven. Kuching reported two cases while Samarahan had one.
The total number of cases since the outbreak of the disease early this year now stands at 13,545.
