MB: 17 birds found dead in Kedah
Star: ALOR STAR: Three chickens and 14 pigeons have been found dead in three areas in Kedah, prompting the state to start random sampling of birds in villages bordering Perak and Penang. Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said three free-range chickens were found dead in Sungai Petani on Monday, 13 wild pigeons in Kulim on Tuesday and another in Kuala Kedah yesterday. “We have sent the birds to the Ipoh Veterinary Research Institute for tests and are now awaiting the results,” he told newsmen here yesterday. Mahdzir said the state had also banned the movement of fowls from Perak and Penang into Kedah.
