Star: PETALING JAYA: The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Niosh) and Universiti Utara Malaysia have joined forces to offer a Masters degree course in Occupational Safety and Health Management.
The course would be offered at the UUM city campus in Jalan Chow Kit beginning November.
Niosh executive director Datuk Dr Johari Basri said students would be exposed to “hands-on” aspects of learning.
“We want to expose the students to real life situations. Niosh can impart knowledge on practical aspects, while UUM will focus on the academia part,” he said after signing a nMoU with UUM during the 9th OSH Conference here at yesterday.
“We want the students to analyse situations using mathematical and scientific tools.”
UUM acting Vice-Chancellor Assoc Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Faiz Hamid said those aged above 25 with working experience and OSH certificates were eligible to apply for the Masters course.
