Hospis Malaysia will hold a charity dinner and concert on Sept 24 with the theme Voices for Hospices 2005.
This is in conjunction with the first World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on Oct 8.
The event at the JW Marriott Hotel is also meant to support hospice and palliative (care for non-curable diseases) by raising the awareness of work done by hospices around the world.
“This will be a great opportunity to let the public know what we do, and also to raise funds,” said Hospis Malaysia chairman Datuk Francis Huang at the launch on Thursday. Hospis Malaysia cares for about 1,000 patients a year by providing clinical and emotional support to patients who have life-threatening diseases.
Yasmin Yusoff will be the emcee and Sheila Majid the main performer at the dinner.
Prices of tables are from RM2,000 to RM15,000.
