Four-year-old boy dies of suspected HFM in Miri

Star: KUCHING: A four-year-old boy died in Miri Hospital yesterday of suspected hand, foot and mouth disease.
If it is confirmed as HFM, he would be the 13th victim to succumb to the disease in Sarawak this year.
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan said 62 new cases were reported state-wide yesterday, of which nine were admitted to hospital.
Miri division had the highest number of new cases with 19, while Kuching reported 12, Bintulu 10, Sibu nine and Betong six.
The total number of cases since the HFM outbreak began early this year now stands at 13,266.
Currently, 18 HFM patients remain warded, including six in Miri Hospital, four in Bintulu Hospital and two each in Sibu and Kapit hospitals.
