Star: KUCHING: A primary school here and a kindergarten in Bintulu were ordered to close for two weeks while 57 new cases of hand, foot and mouth disease were reported in Sarawak yesterday.
SK St Peter in Simpok, received its closure order on Monday while Tadika St Anthony was ordered to close yesterday.
Miri Division reported the highest number of new cases with 21, followed by Kuching with 12 and Bintulu, nine.
Ten children were admitted to hospital. A four-year-old girl admitted to Miri Hospital on Sunday was reported to be in serious condition.
The total number of cases now stands at 13,602.
